The Juggle Struggle System
When you go back to work after having a baby, it can suddenly feel like there are a LOT of things to juggle!
I developed the Juggle Struggle System to create the package I wish I’d had when I returned to work after maternity leave.
It will help you get to grips with your child-family-work-life juggle struggle. You will:
- Build a habit of reviewing your upcoming week to make sure nothing is going to catch you out
- Review everything you’re juggling and decide what can be dropped (that’s right, we can drop things on purpose!)
- Bring some focus back to you after dedicating yourself to your family for a long time
- Get realistic about time; how much you have and what you do with it (so that you can make better decisions about how you spend it!)
- Make a plan for those extra struggle weeks where your household is unwell and normal routines disappear!
- Learn about your new identity as a working parent.
What you’ll get in this package:
- Introduction video
- Video walkthrough of setup exercise 1 - writing everything down!
- Video walkthrough of setup exercise 2 - mapping out your average week (blank worksheet and example worksheet included).
- Coaching video for the weekly worksheet; (worksheet template included) re-watch as many times as you like!
- Coaching video for the Emergency Worksheet (worksheet template included) - to use when everything feels like it’s gone wrong.
- Email reminders to complete the weekly worksheets.
How you’ll feel after using the system:
- More organised
- Confident in prioritising what needs to get done and what can wait
- Less embarrassed to ask for help
- Unafraid to celebrate your wins
- Open and curious to learning about your new identity as a working parent
It’s not for you if:
- You don’t have an hour each week to invest in yourself - if you can’t spend the time on the worksheets, you won’t see any benefit from the system.
- You want a ‘quick-fix’ for all aspects of your life in one go - the system is based on incremental gains.
- You’re already super-organised, have your shit together, and have gone sailing into working-parent life without setbacks. (Well done you, come on my podcast and tell us how!)
“But there are loads of systems and planners and to-do lists out there - why’s this one any different to all the rest?”
I hear you - this one’s different because:
- It reminds you of all the great things you’ve done each week, not just what there is left to do
- I actively encourage you to drop some balls - we think the trick is to juggle all the balls, but the less there are to juggle, the less the struggle! This system helps you focus on what’s actually important, not just what is on 'the list'.
- It recognises that you’re a human person and not a machine working down a to-do list.
- I bring your attention to the fact that you are learning about your new life as a working parent and sometimes that means things about you change. I encourage you to recognise and embrace the changes, getting confidence in who you are.
- I’ve got you covered for those weeks when everyone in your house is unwell and so you have to throw out the ‘normal’ routine and get back to basics. This happens a lot when children are in new childcare settings and can feel very chaotic, but I can help you through those tough weeks.
- There are a couple of additional exercises that help you to get realistic about where your time goes, allowing you to think harder about how precious it is and what you want to do with it.
About me
I’m Lyndsay - I’m a being-organised geek and a do-er; I’m the one in the WhatsApp group who does the polls and organises the group things (you all know what I mean here).
Also, I actually had a baby, and actually went back to work after having a baby. So, I know what it feels like to go from doing one job while on maternity leave (keep the baby alive!) to doing approximately 66 jobs per minute as soon as you go back to work. (Or at least feeling like that.)
Juggle struggles can be brilliant and messy and fun and awful and profound and overwhelming, and if I can, I’d like to help you with yours.
PS - If the system’s not for you right now, why not check out my blog instead.
